Who Has The Best Chin In MMA??

In a sport where a bullet proof mug is about as valuable as dirt in Waterworld. There are a few fighters who seem to have an advantage over their oponents simply because they sport a sturdy chin. But it is what it is, just like how some guys are fast, tall, freakishly powerful or have a 4 inch reach over someone who is taller then them. All intricate details that make up the beautiful world that is MMA. But before I go too Frank Mir on you all lets get back to the topic at hand. Of who is the current holder of the sturdiest mandible(or jaw for short)

My top ten would go like this, no particular order as it is way to tough to call.

Big Nog - Legenday
B.J. Penn - has he ever been rocked?
Patrick Cote - Andersons best shots didnt even faze him
Rampage Jackson - just look at the size of his head
Dan Henderson - never been KOed
Sam Stout - see second Fisher fight
Keith Jardine - this is one of those joke things
Gomi - also has never been KOed
Mark Hunt - would have had the top spot if it wasnt for Manhoef
Faber - he has two
Chris Leben - see any fight besides the Anderson fight
Anderson Silva - once again has he ever been rocked?

If I had to pick one I would likely go with B.J.

the only problem i have is that....its not that alot of the lw fighters have the best chins its just that most of the lw fighters dont have enough power and momentum with them being so small to knock each other out...but anyways i do believe maynard should be included in this ;)

just because they have been ko'd once or twice takes them out? that doesnt seem right, granted they shouldnt be on there if they have a name that rhymes with sardine. i would say guida just because he took that huge kick from diego, but gun pointed out his feelers on the lw division, that also takes bj off the list. very good list carls, we might as well as add the dragon, and shogun since shogun hasnt been ko'd. he has a tko on his record but its from the arm injury from the first coleman fight. how about sexyama?

As soon as I read the name of this thread, I got a mental video of Clay Guida surviving that horrific kick, and subsequent strikes, from Diego Sanchez.
Also, I can't really think of anyone else that hasn't already been mentioned, but I would add that a provision for consideration should be has the chin been tested.
For example, someone like Shane Carwin.
Never been knocked out, or even in serious trouble, and knows less about the second and third rounds of fights than I do about physics and calculus.
;)
Limiting to just guys who have been tested under repeated high-level fire, I would have to say its a toss up between Hendo and BigNog...

Yoshiaki took an a$$ whoopin'! Never once did he get dropped, that's the amazing part! If you can find the video, check it out!!!

Also, Wesley "Cabbage" Correira has a helluva chin!

gsp included in this as well? the last person to rock him was serra. granted he takes his opponents down at will before they can strike, but should he be included in this after what i mentioned?

guida did survive diego's attack and landed some shots, but gun said it really isnt fair to include the 155ers due to their lack of power compared to the bigger guys. cote should be near the top 5 for sure imo. im saving judgement on shane until after the lesnar fight, if he walks through brock's punches and smiles, then he is up in the top 5 imo.

I don't agree with the 155'ers issue. What about Jens Pulver? He was KO'ing people at that weight.

im not saying it cant happen lex...but it doesnt happen as often as it does at all the other weigh classes because they dont have as much size and cant get as much momentum.....and when i think of someone who has a good chin i think of someone who has taken huge shots from the best and still stood.....i would have said hendo but anderson rocked him in round 2...cote was never even fassed in that fight....so imho i would say cote has the best chin in mma

I think the only person that I have seen that hasn't been rocked or in trouble on the feet has to be Cote. That would have to be my number one pick followed by Guida because of all the damage that he took by Sanchez.

and most won't like this but I'm surprised no one put Fedor in here, he has taken some shots the fujita shot was pretty sick, never been knocked out you gotta throw him in there with the best chins in the game.

i think that overall it's hard to say who has the best chin because a lot of these guys that we've named have gotten hit super hard with clean on the button punches and still didn't go down, but on the other hand, they have also been dropped at some point. BJ Penn is a dude that i have never seen get dropped with a solid punch so he might be up there for the best chin, also, even though Anderson whiped Leben, it took a bout 4 solid power shots to drop him and the guy still got up only to get finished but he still got up after all those perfect punches.

Lyoto Machida #1 best chin.

can't say anything about the great lyoto machida about having a good chin since he never gets hit much. how much times did he get hit in the rashad fight? 2 i think. just thinking i shoud maybe put this out there.

You cant put him on there cause it hasnt been truly tested yet. Its like saying who has the best jits and putting Duffee on the list. We have to see first. Like if Quinton bobs, weaves, locks, loads, and smashes Machida with a big left and he takes it and keeps fighting like it was nothing more than a slap. Then yes we will put him in there.

Good call on Lytle Petterson but he wouldnt quite be top ten in my mind.
