Strikeforce this friday! first show!

when i got home from work this afternoon, my lovely wife surprised me with tickets to strikeforce this friday in fresno! no, evangalista vs gurgel is no fedor vs. rogers card, but im so pumped up that i will finally make it to my first live show! and this kind of works out perfectly because i live about 20 minutes from the venue. i read about people going to UFC fights and all these great cards, and now that im finally going to be one of those drunk, loud, and obnoxious mma fight goers in support of the sport that i love, words just cant express how much im looking forward to this.

now not only did i want to share this with everyone here, i want to hear stories of your first mma show. where? when? who? be detailed because im sure that all of you were as excited as i am, no matter how big or small. thanks to all who reply, and this friday i will be drinking an overpriced draft in honor of everyone here.

That is Awesome of her to get you some tickets for the event at the Save Mart Center, I too will be there (along with my friends) and I'm looking forward to this card.....

As far as Strikeforce events go in comparison to a ZUFFA production, well the Strikeforce events aren't as "loud" (speaker volume wise) as a ZUFFA production is, the fighters tho are more accessable @ a Strikeforce event (just don't get too drunk and offend them), I've met alot of fighters at Strikeforce events even ZUFFA employed fighters such as Urijah Faber, Anthony Johnson.. Now this isn't one of their large cards and possibly the majority of fighters will be at the Nov 7th show but you might see a few....You will have a great time and honestly I can't wait for Friday either!

If you read about the Carolina Crown last Sunday, then you read my "first MMA event" story.. Minus the part about beer getting thrown at the cage after one of the locals got triangled, and then Jerry Spiegel getting in a fight in the VIP section after getting in a fight in the cage... ::Shakes head::

awesome stories guys, this is just throwing more fuel on the fire and adding to the suspense! i couldnt sleep last night, nor do i think i will until sometime saturday.

justin h, i have to admit that im somewhat surprised that was your first live event,i thought that i was the only one that hasnt been to a ZUFFA production! but i can only imagine that it will stick your memory for the rest of your life. thanks for the reply!

Mr. 702, from what i can gather i know that you follow the MMA world to alot of venues, but if this is your first event at the savemart center then i would reccommend that you eat at "The Bulldog Grill" across the street preshow where the burgers are awesome and beers are plentiful. nonetheless i will see you at the show!

Zuffa's only event at a time and place I could easily get to, so far, was not open to the public. "Fight For the Troops" was two hours from me, but military only, the next closest was Evans v. Liddell, but that was six hours away. I may make it to UFN 20 up in Fairfax though, that's only 4 hours away.

This isn't my first venture to the Save Mart Center for some good ol fashion MMA, I went to the first Challengers Series event that was held there... I'm not a huge fan of "The Bulldog Grill" being from Fresno I've been there a few times, yet I like the original "Firestone Grill" in SLO more than "The Bulldog Grill", I may however go there for the pleantiful beer yet their bartending staff leaves alot to be desired honestly, its not a dis just the truth... Yet with the "resturant" being right across the street it is an obvious choice, or I might do like I did the first time Strikeforce came to town and just have a few at home and head over to the fights, I'm not quite sure yet..

I'm sure most of the frenZied know Jorge Gurgel, and some may have heard me post, sometimes at length, about the potential of men like Evangelista and Shane Del Rosario.
Definitely can't wait to get home Friday night and settle in with my crew for the Challengers Series...
