fedor.....arona really did nothing when ever he had a dominate position......fedor was attempting submissions, and landing shots the entire fight whenever he had a dominate position...i really cant see how anyone had this fight close....maybe if arona did something more than just lay on top of fedor when he had a dominate position then he would have won, but he didnt

Gun, in the RINGS org there were different rules while being on the ground (mounted position included), soo by the rules of the RINGS org that is why alot of people believe that Fedor "lost" this fight.....

fedor lose a fight... are you guys high? he is unbeatable, blah blah blah.
if you go by the rules of the organization, you can argue fedor lost, but if you go by who was more active and doing more damage then fedor won. how do you score a fight when say rampage takes down shogun at will, however rampage really isnt doing anything when he is on top yet shogun is going for kimura's, chokes, landing punches and elbows the entire 3 round fight? I give the guy who is working the entire fight the more points as opposed to the guy that is just doing lay n pray.

as do i big chris, which is even though i understand the rules...i just cant give this fight to arona without him doing any work...fedor takes this one do to actually fighting imo

I do think that one undisputable thing the Arona-Fedor fight shows is that Fedor couldn't KO Arona, and that when Arona's "on", he can hang with the best in the world.
That says a lot IMO.
Also, while a lot of people bad-mouth a fighter who takes someone down and controls him on the ground with body and ring/cage positioning and sporadic strikes by referring to it as "lay and pray", it bears mentioning that its **** hard work, and shows a proficency in grappling that while not exciting to the crowd is technically satisfying for grappling fans to watch. Some at the judges table seem to appreciate that and score accordingly, and some do not.
I'm not trying to argue who won the fight or not, I'm just throwing it out there that if a promotion instructs judges to award points for mounting and ride time, a case can be made for Arona.Posted 4 months ago #
