ok guys since it has just been confirmed, lets pick the winner between machida-evans.
I think evans is outclassed and machida will pick him apart just like anderson silva does to his opponents. machida by 3rd round tko or rear naked choke.

I got machida by late first/ early second rnd tko....rashad is a slow starter and you cant do that to machida ...Machida dominates rnd 1 and finishes rashad during rnd 2 or tko's evans in rnd 1
i got Machida by UD winning every round.
I believe evans has looked sloppy throughout his career n against chuck he got dominated in the first round n did a lot of elusive movement n faking jabs n hooks but literally nothing n caughty chuck with a sweet shot, against griffin for the first 2 rounds once again did nothing loads of movement n faking shots n u have to memba forrest fought most of tht fight wth a broken hand n was still more effective on the feet, forrest got sloppy n evens capatalised. What im trying to say is i havent seen a rashad evans fight were he looked dominant n fought a fight where he was the better fighter throughout the fight and looked superior.
With all this about rashad the complete opposite is Lyoto "the dragon" machida, an excellent counter striker with a ground game apparently to back it up, even thou he hasnt been able to demonstarte it.
I see this fight going like any evans fight him being dominated for 1 or 2 rounds but Machida not creating any openings like chuck n forrest did.
Machida by tko in round 2, 3 or 4 garantued.
ya during that fight with forrest the first to ounds forrest was dominating i don't know what happened in the 3rd round. like he wanted to go to bed, kind of like he said he was to relaxed
Hahaha all you guys on Machida now.
I have been a machida supporter for a good while now. I have him beating Evans by unanimous decision. Let me explain a little. You cant beat what you cant hit. I have never seen Machida get hit with a real clean shot, ever. Instead of the Dragon, he should be called the Ghost.
I wouldnt say everyones a machida fan...I just think evryone knows what hes capable of and knows this is gonna be his fight.....I hope your not talking about me being a machida fan now...because ive always been a machida fan since I saw him fight vernon white at wfa and him tko'n franklin.....IMO i dont think he has had a boring fight yet...machida vs tito is one of my favorite fights to watch I watch it at least once or twice a month
timcat I agree with you on the changing of machida's nickname. It should be ghost, or some sort of snake. the guy just dodges punches and strikes from angles. he is an awesome fighter one of my favorites along with damian maia, gsp, brock, and guida.
Machida by Split Decision-
If 2008 has taught us anything it's that a challenger can win by decision. I think that is important to note because I think that is what this will come down to. Both these fighters are very smart and always well prepared. So you know it is likely to get interesting later rather early. I really think a KO or TKO is unlikely unless someone makes a massive mistake b/c both fighters use angles and speed more rather than standing and trading power shots(though both can finish fights quick). One thing Rashad absolutely has to do to win is break his tradition of starting slow, because if he drops 2 out of the first 3 rounds he's going to lose. Only because then he will have to try to pursue and be over aggressive w/ Machida and that plays directly into Machida's game. All things considered I think Evans gets down early and so I am giving the fight to Machida with the scorecards reading 48-47. With Evans winning the second and last rounds in mostly a stand up war. How fast Evans gets going is what will determine the fight.
Machida tko 4th round 2nd minute:
The first two rounds with be a slow pace with each fighter trying to get the upper hand and land that powerful counter punch. Machida will do enough to take these 2 rounds. In the 3rd, Machida will continue to land shots with an in and out fighting style. After the 3rd round, Evans will get frustrated with Machida's elusive style and try and be aggressive in the 4th since he will be down 3 rounds at this point. Evan's will be the fighter to make a mistake, Machida will counter with a beautiful left hand and finish it on the canvas. Ref stops the contest, TKO due to strikes.
good choice willy d
Hey guys, new to the site, and was just wondering who everyone thinks the loser of this fight would face next. Possibly the winner of Shogun v. Liddell, or maybe Franklin if he gets passed Wandy?
As far as this fight goes, I think Machida keeps Rashad from closing any distance and outscores him to a decision victory.
Hey, Welcome to the FrenZy.....
When Rashad loses and LIddell beats Shogun, Liddell will ask for a rematch against Evans, who just "caught" Liddell anyways soo ofcourse he will want a rematch (Liddell's words not mine as far as getting "caught" is concerned)
If somehow Rashad wins, I think Lyoto would face Griffin or Liddell if he wins, Jon Jones depending where he is at in the scope of LHW divison or Jardine, those are just off the top of my head
the loser of this would face the winner of chuck-rua but not get a title shot. then maybe face forrest if he wins his next match for a title shot after rampages turn.
If we do end up seeing liddell v. Machida somewhere down the line, do we face the possibility of a very slow fight, with both fighters having a counter style. I don't want to say the wrong thing here in that it would be a boring fight because I understand that counter striking and being elusive is a skill, but anyways...would we see a slow paced fight with this matchup guys.
Hey Kluvison, if you think that Liddell v Machida would be a boring fight, there is nothing wrong in stating that what so ever, people have opionions and I like to hear them all...
I actually think that since Machida v Thiago Silva, that Machida wants to be more "exciting" for the casual fan, I myself have found him exciting for a long time but I think that @ UFC 94 you might have seen a change in Lyoto... Now stating that ,the last thing you want to do is chase around Liddell cuz he will catch you, Rashad beat him esseentially by making him chase Rashad then BOOM you go mimi's now... soo perhaps for the first round the both of them would be standoffish but eventually they will turn it up and start fighting... but hey that is just the way I see it....
fr702, hopefully Machida doesn't try to change his style to much in response to his critics. Hopefully your right and that fight doesn't just continue to be a feel out process passed the first round if the fight ever were to happen. Now we have the Evans/Machida fight and the Rua/Liddell fight, so where do you guys see the Franklin/Wandy fight fitting into this if you think it does at all. I know its been said that win or lose Wandy is goin to 185, but as far as Franklin goes, what does this fight mean for him? If he wins does it just simply keep him in the mix of the 205 division or does it put him right in the thick of things as far as the line for a title shot goes.
next title shot goes to rampage according to dana white. after that, if forrest wins, he will most likely get the winner of shogun-chuck, or the loser of machida-evans with the winner getting a title shot. Rich "Ace" Franklin is definitely a top 10 guy at 205, but needs to win at least 2 fights at 205 before he is a title contender there, and seeing how machida already beat him, I dont see ace being a champ anytime soon. I would like to see ace fight jardine, and possibly forrest or shogun. I think that jon jones is the next top contender at 205, he is very raw, but has immense talent. he should fight houston alexander, then jardine, then could go against forrest, or shogun, or chuck, then maybe evans or rampage before getting a title shot. that is assuming he wins all those possible fights I mentioned. I believe that machida will become champ and make a long title defense streak. The guy I see that gives machida the biggest threat is the new and improved rampage. I have liked machida since I first saw him beat ace with that beautiful knee to the head in pride. the guy is a beast. he may not be exciting to many new fans who love ko's, but he is an exciting guy. it takes a lot of skill to be very elusive and a great counter puncher. cant wait for evans-machida. I hope machida ko's evans.
In regards to Jon Jones, I would think that Alexander is a step down from Bonnar as far as opponents go.
Justin, I agree. I would like to see Jones v. Hamil next with the winner getting a crack at some of the stiffer competition in the division.
if jones gets his cardio even better he gonna be very hard to beat
