Just had Gladiator on while I was studying and I had a thought. If you could take one the world's many fighters from any organization to be a gladiator in ancient Rome, who would you take? why?

but id have to go with Carlos newton based solely upon the fact that he is trained in commando krav maga- an Israeli self defense system that would definitly help in a hand to hand comabt situation or a situation involving disarming a gladiator with a sword or other weapons....because as many know gladiators most of the time fought other people , they fought animals on special occasions but most of the time is was just a couple guys vs a gladiator...they didnt start using animals till toward the end of the roman era when people just started to get blood thirtsy and wanting to see death so they would put them against very uneven odds but anyways id feel safe with carlos newton knowing that he is trained in krav maga(the best self defense system in the world)...if for some reason newtn couldnt be there id go with bas rutten because you just never know when you might get into a bar fight with another gladiator which is where bas rutten's street defense would come in handy :)

Gun- good call there, I actually may start teaching Krav Maga style self defense so I definitely know how effective it is. Didn't know Newton actually trained it seriously! He was an early favorite of mine. Also I think Bas may have been a gladiator in a past life that man can fight.

ya newton trains in it i saw him in a magazine ad for krav maga in ultimate mma magazine....it said kravmaga has even trained ufc champions and it showed carlos...i dont know what krav maga belt he is though.......but anyways ya krav maga is great and its easy to learn, the movements are so simple and easy to pull off in a quick thinking scenario...the gun and knife disarms are amazingive learned alot of krav maga just from a book and some dvd's i got from the CKM website and i hope to take classes in it sometime once i move into the bigger cities here in ohio where they actually have krav maga schools

this is an easy choice guys... its wandy when he was destroying people in pride. not only his skills, but add to the mix his face. dude looks like an ape that is going to go ape shitt. I doubt he would back down from anyone, and if he gets an axe we would know if he truly deserves to be called the axe murderer.

easy. who licks blood off there gloves? its bj penn. he could stand on 1 foot and wield a sword in each hand and wit his foot. as long as the other gladiator doesnt grease up before the fight bjs 3 sword technique wins

My only request if it could be anyone...Gary Shaw versus about 8 lions...
Be hard not consider Rampage, anyone who lists his style as "whup that ****" has to get some consideration haha
