This of course is me thinking that Machida will beat Shogun. So lets say for the sake of it he does. But two months earlier Anderson puts away Griffin, and 2 months later Rashad beats Jackson by UD. I dont know about you but another fight with Rashad just wouldnt do it for me.(unless he KTFO Rampage) It would take quite the series of events but if it did happen I think it would leave the LHW div in a interesting situation.
1. It would be tough giving it to Griffin coming off 2 losses.
2.Rampage would be a no.
3.Rashad maybe but unless he gets that KO i just see it being a hard sell.
I would be at peace if they gave it to Randy at that time, provided he beat Nog.
But i guess at the end of the day they would have to give it to Rashad, which im just not intersted in seeing.
Forrest gets KOed and Rampage loses. Who gets the next shot?

Well, lets think about this IF both Rampage and Griffin lose their respective fights (which could very well happen) and Lyoto beats Shogun who gets a shot...? hhhmmmm, well look at it this way, Shogun was the one to "take" a match v Lyoto that is why he got the shot, Rampage doesn't want to fight Lyoto, and either does Griffin (tho I believe that Griffin is more willing to fight him for the title, Rampage uh not so much), I say the one that gets the "next shot" is Hendo If he beats Bisping, or Cane yet I don't believe that Cane is "ready" for the shot.... Hendo has been a champion before (PRIDE) and well he only losses in the UFC come at hands of Anderson Silva and Rampage if (when) he beats Bisping he will be on a 3 fight winning streak and could possibly fight for both the MW title and the LHW title.... It could be the "old guard" v "the machida era" type of thing... other than that you have Franklin, Hamill, Cane, Wanderlei as options unless they sign someone else (Lil Nog/Babalu) they will have to come up with a (n) opponent for Lyoto and I believe that it will be Hendo if (when) he wins @UFC 100.. But com'on Rampage is going to send Rashad to the MW division anyways...

Um that would be a simple answer... Tito... j/k Rashad Evans would be the easy "choice" for the spot. Maybe Franklin but Evans would still in my mind at least get a choice of whether or not he wanted a rematch if he beats Rampage. As a former champ he does have the right to a rematch but that's my opinion.

hold on guys, if forrest loses to anderson, forrest gets screwed? give him the title shot. forrest hasnt ducked anyone and has fought 3 of the baddest guys at 205 [rashad, rampage, shogun] now he is fighting anderson who is top 3 in the world. let forrest take on machida. that would be his 5th fight against a top 10 guy at 205 in a row. and if you look at his record he only lost one, maybe two if he loses to anderson.
so say forrest wins and rampage wins, does rampage still get the shot at machida before forrest? who else would forrest have to beat?
there are many variables here, also what happens if silva wins and somehow dana and the ufc convince anderson to fight machida? I know machida and anderson have stated they wouldnt fight each other, but what if it happens. fedor and barnett said they wouldnt fight and they have signed to do so. this is a great topic, but we will find out at least one variable to this equation after 101.
say that forrest loses, rampage loses, and anderson says no to the fight against machida. cane is left,[he is not ready though] franklin has already lost to machida, [google that fight] jardine-thiago silva winner gets machida? thiago was already ko'd by machida, and jardine has less of a chance than rashad did. randy would be picked apart, as will hendo. hendo couldnt beat anderson, he wont come close to machida, who I think is a more elusive, powerful version of anderson.

The destruction of Rich by the hands of Lyoto is a good fight....
Forrest has turned down a fight against Lyoto before, he doesn't want to fight him at all, unless it is for the title he states that Lyoto gives him to many problems... google that shhiit, its in a interview...
Anderson Silva is the #1 MW in the world and I believe he would be highly ranked in the LHW division if he stayed there but for now he shouldn't be ranked in the top 15 just for beating Irvin.... I do assume that you were speaking about P4P but hey dunno.....
Forrest could get a shot depending apawn how the fight goes if he gets Ko'd in 45 seconds no, If it is a war **** ya good idea and yes Griffin has been fighting some beasts recently and well his career actually..... Griffin v Monson google that shhhitt :P

So if Forrest loses to a top MW he should get a shot but if Rashad wins over the #2 LHW he shouldn't get a rematch for the belt??? Kinda seems backwards to me...

rich franklin would probaly be the closest. Rampage was offered a title shot after he beat wanderlei, but that was also because he KOed him in the first round.
But they would let him hold on the title for a while until they decide who gets the title shot

Considering what he has done for the promotion in Germany by taking a catchweight fight with Wand and potentially fighting Chuck Liddell for his "send-off" bout, it's pretty easy to believe that the sole benficiary of a title shot spurred on by Griffin and Rampage losses would be RIch Franklin.
The UFC loves this guy because he's intelligent, always comes to the cage ready to go, and is a solid spokesman for the sport, probably second only to Randy Couture. Sometime down the road if Franklin gets the right LHW win, and other contenders lose, he's a shoe-in for a title shot.Of course he'd get killed by Machida, but that's probably a topic for another day...
