i agree completly with dana right now...because the only fight anyone cares about seeing is mayweather vs pacquino.....i really believe boxing is holding out on this fight simply because its the last real fight boxing has left...after mayweather and pacquino there are no more big drawing names for boxing and will probably fall even further.......once pacquino gets the mayweather fight...i will be watching it to watch mayweather get his mouth shut...I cant stand him he is the worst athlete in the world imo......but anyways back to the topic....my question is once mayweather and pacquino are gone where does boxing go?.......the only other rising contender i know is andre ward and he is contemplating going into mma from what ive heard

Andre ward is from the bay area! And i also heard he's going into mma.
Mayweather is #1 on my fight club list and I have nothing but horrible things to say about that dude. Dana white pretty much covered it all. Manny vs Gayweather is the last "real" fight before boxing goes 6 feet under.
Din thomas is still waiting for gayweather's call since he called him out. Paquino will whoop on mayweather and then retire. Look forward to the day when someone finally shuts him up.

I think that Manuel Marquez has a good shot at beating Gayweather, and if he does he'll really fu*k bozing up and that will be awesome.

i agree marvel im picking marquez to upset him because from what ive heard he is training really hard for this fight and mayweather isnt training that hard

I almost feel like I need a shower after even hearing about boxing, or reading about it.
Seriously, when boxing looks MMA in the figurative eye, it's like when the last Neanderthal had that proverbial staredown with the first Cro-Magnon, in that they both know only one can survive at the top of the food chain, but only one of them knows which it will be...Posted 6 months ago # -
Before I took Karate and before I hit the International Boxing and Martial Arts Academy of Cincinnati for Muay Thai training I was a Boxer and a HUGE boxing fan who never missed Tuesday or Friday night fights on ESPN and gladly subscribed to both HBO and Showtime as well as purchasing PPV events to watch Tyson, Holyfield, Jones, Calzaghe, Tarver, Hector "Macho" Camacho, De La Hoya etc. etc. and even the much despised Gayweather. Just like my father.
Guess what?
When it became apparent that MMA was going to actually be launched as a legit sport and I realized that I would be treated to octagon bouts every month instead of once/twice a year I completely forsook the sport and dedicated my full attention and devotion to MMA. I couldn't begin to tell you the state of boxing now or who the top contenders are when 5-10 years ago I could talk your ear off for days about p4p and individual weight class contenders and champions. The sport got corrupted imo, and the boxing fans of today are a fastly dying breed. I'm not sad and I don't miss it either. After being used to watching hundreds if not thousands of MMA bouts when I go to try to watch a boxing fight now I yawn and change the channel. Dana is going way out of his way to help put the nail in Boxing's coffin and if it means that MMA gains because of it more power to him. Harsh but true.

I like Manuel Marquez, the dude is as tough as they come. I've seen his last few fights and i have to admit that i like the dude's style, he has this kinda "technical brawling" style if that makes any sense at all, but that's what i think when i see the dude fight. I feel that he was robbed in his last fight with Pacquiao, i hope he can win this fight and **** Mayweather up and humble him a bit.
