I think its all been said.
Sonnen is a wannabe-politician, and a businessman, who understands the sport and the coin connected to it.
And as a wannabe politician and businessman he mixes truth with bullsh!t and tries to sell you both for half of what its worth, and for twice what you're willing to pay.
Consider that some have said that Sonnen is a rare survivor of charisma-bypass surgery, which is one of the reasons the UFC's support for him as been tepid at best, so if like some of the talk-radio guys struggling for ratings he decides to "shoot from the hip", so be it.
At least he NOW has a personality, even if he comes off a bit Glenn Beck-ish, who is an acquired taste to put it politely.
Plus some of the stuff Sonnen has said has the added value of being true.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one thats getting tired of Anderson Silva's transformation from consummate sportsman to borderline smackboy.
I'm also glad to see and hear Sonnen verbally scrape away some of the hype and bullsh!t associated with the 185 weightclass, which is long overdue.
Also, the rumor is that Mark Coleman has never been a savage guy in training camp, so who better than a Team Quest'er to comment on it?
Wrestlers know each other pretty well, and with Sonnen's cred he feels justified in having his say.
If Coleman tracks him down in the dressing room and jacks him up for talking sh!t on him, well then he had it coming, but at least Sonnen is handling his business like a man.
And no he's not going to beat Marquardt, he's not going to last the full 15 minutes against Marquardt, and the closest Sonnen is going to get to a 185 title match is if Dana comps him some tickets when Marqaurdt fights the Silva-Belfort winner, who I hope to God is Belfort.
Nonetheless Sonnen is selling himself in the UFC as a sh!t-talker.
And why not?
Guys like Ortiz, Lesnar, Mir, Hardy, Penn, etc have made themselves rich men in the UFC by "playing the heel", as the pro wrestling folks call it, so why not Sonnen, a man who strikes me as someone in search of a personality, until now...
